The first one has a faster processor and a better graphics chip so get that one.

If given only those two choices, I'd go with the HP because Dell pulled a fast one on my cousin...
Other than that, the people at a well-known electronics store say that Sony has the best sound, while Toshiba has the best picture. That doesn't surprise me one bit. Since you are doing heavy video stuff, I would recommend Toshiba.

HP ALL THE WAY!!! I just bought one and I LOVE IT! The Core Duo is the best! Check out www.pcworld.com and see that HP has higher ratings than Dell. I got a great deal @ Staples - only $699 after a sale and a couple of rebates. Good luck!

I would go with the HP. i have three HP's one is a Laptop. Dell Is having issues and has terrible support at the moment and just changes CEO's...Either way enjoy it , but Laptops ar really not good gaming systems.

the t7200 is miles ahead of the tl-64

advantage dell

graphcs on dell is also superior

>> but a word of caution., u'll end up with in-sufficient memory
vista is resource hungry, add to that u'r games & video editing tasks
minimum i'd settle for is 2 gb ram, not 1gb

i'd probably go with the dell.... depending on how much your willing to spend, i may look into building a comp, but w.e. or atleast upgrading the audio on the dell... good luck! (good place to look at parts for building a comp: www.newegg.com )
