Yes. It is illegal to sell or buy "new" elephant ivory ANYWHERE. Not saying that people don't buy or sell it, just that it's illegal (look at everything else illegal that people do.)

However, I do believe that the Inuits and other tribes in alaska are still allowed to produce and sell a -very- small amount of walrus ivory... not 100% sure, but I think so at least.... *shrug*

Yes. Ivory trade from elephants has been band sense 1980. Then a world wide band was enacted in 1989. The World Wildlife Fund has lots of info on this topic.

Ivory also comes from walrus, whales, wild pigs, warthogs and hippos. The only people that can use ivory legally are native peoples. ie Inuit.

In most countries it would be, although some poeple still break the law and do it. They can sell it for a fortune. In some countries, they are so harsh on the law that there is even a life sentence for any harm done to the native elephants. Crazy eh?

Each and every animals have their own world and family to live enjoy like us.It is not our right to kill them. so it is very illegal to kill any animals including elephants

in every country, it is illegal. but the very special species of humans, poacher prickuss, will never die out, so there will still be poaching, sadly.
