I think he takes the left hand, to put the engagement ring on. And if A guy gets on one knee and proposes don't let him get away no matter what hand he takes. This is a true sign of love and respect. Thats the way it was done years ago. Lucky girl!

Left; that's the hand that you put the ring on. Then he slips the ring right on to the finger.

You take the left because that is where you place the ring. Oh just so you know it is the finger by the pinky which is the small one. lol.
