I know this question had been asked already from a female perspective but let me ask it again in general - why are there so many ugly people in the world - both male and female? I mean, I haven't seen one pretty person during 2006 not on TV nor on the street. What is going on?!
I'm not trying to be shallow btw. Just expressing my thoughts - of course personality is very important too.

First, who or what is worthy of defining what makes a person attractive? Personally I see extremely beautiful as well as not so beautiful people everyday.
I apologize if your expectations are so high that no one can live up to them, but in actuality your the one that will lose out because nobody will ever satisfy you. Some cultures view fat people as extremely attractive, in fact ours did a couple hundred years ago which we know through paintings many artists use to paint to show the beauty of the (somewhat chunky) model.
Do you live up to your standards of beauty? And if you do is it because they are in fact - "your standards".
Let's say you're right and no one is beautiful anymore, well it's still an unanswerable question. It's by mere chance of genetics and opinion whether people are born to be attractive or not. Or maybe it's God layin the smackdown on America for superimposing beauty on society and telling people they better live up to the media's expectations, and lose weight, and have the next best hair-do, and tight buns, and a flat stomach with rock hard abs.

You must have very very high standards to have not seen at least one. But I've wonderd about this. I've noticed even the ugliest people can find someone to breed with. And the most ugly women are desperate to have a kid. I wonder why the average isn't even uglier. I saw something on tv where they took pictures of a lot of people and with computer software combined them and the average of everyone was a match for peoples ideal of beauty.
Wouldn't it be a better world if only the good looking in the past had been allowed to breed. Everyone would have good looking girlfriends with nice firm ****. Eugenics is the answere

uhmm..depends on peoples opinions about whats attrative and whats not. Just because the media puts forth certain images and people who look certain ways doesn't meen other people are ugly.
i'm not saying this in defense of myself, cuz i don't think i'm ugly at all. Health and all that kinda stuff is way important but..you nobody's gotta look like a supermodel to be accepted by others...

They say that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder; I guess this would be true for ugliness as well. You may just have standards that are too high.

My God you must have a very high opinion of yourself! noone can help the way they look, why do you think people are having plasic sergery- because they think their ugly. I am an average looking person, even if I thought I was beautiful I wouldn't think so, but yeah i'm not. but really what a question!

I think you should move to a big city! There are great looking people there!
I haven't encountered any ugly people at all last year, so I am not sure what you are talking about.

I guess it is the persons aspect on things whether another person is ugly or beautiful.
I think that everyone is beautiful in their own way.

You're an embarrassment to society. Why would you EVER say something like that? That's actually disgusting. Also, what are you expecting? Somebody to be like "Oh yeah, I know the reason. Because scientifically ......" You can't POSSIBLY be expecting somebody to give you a serious answer to that.
