You spoke with ONE person in Canada and already you THINK you know what they ALL think?
Hey, listen, in case you have't noticed or in case no one told you, the Canadians are the ONLY ones in the entire world that have come to the aid of Americans during floods and hurricanes and tornados... voluntarily, and without us asking them and they've never asked for anything in return, like many other nations and supposed "allies."
Did you know that Canadians arrived (along with Hugo Chanvez' help from Venezuela) DAYS before the Federal Government ever realized what was going on in Louisiana during the aftermath of Katrina? They have NEVER asked for anything in return! Canadians have been our best neighbors, in case you're not aware.
So, if one or two or even a half dozen or two dozen Canadians think bad of us... maybe they have a good reason... MAYBE they're seeing things wtihout the fanatical haze many yokels see our famous rodeo clown in the White House!
Do you think American arrogance has made us many friends throughtout the world with this idiot we have in the White House? Think twice!

Are you really going to believe that all Canadians think they are better than the Americans, just from one conversation, in one city, in one province of Canada, because there are a lot more Canadians with a lot more views then just anti American ones. I can't speak for all Canadians, but I for one, do not think that just because I am a Canadian, that I am better than any American, besides we are all human beings created equal in the eyes of God, are we not.
You can't base the opinion of one Canadian as the view of the entire nation.
If you move the 'why' in your question to the end you will find out if Canadians think they are better then Americans and then see why they feel that way.
Did you find out why this person was so anti American? People usually have a reason for why and what they believe, no matter if it is far from the truth that you believe.
All I can say is that everyone is entitled to and has their own opinion, no matter what country they are from.

We Canadians are proud to have a different system, at least we had. Harper is doing his best to sell Canada to the U.S.
We do not agree with your present administration and the generally neo-conservative/liberal politics, at least the vast majority of Canadians don't.
We have nothing against Americans. But I believe most are mis- or under-informed about the motives driving your government: controlling everything and everybody and every oil/money well in the world.
Also, few people if any in Canada go broke or lose their house or retirement savings because of health problems. Though there are some (Conservatives) who believe that it's o.k. to take profits from people needing treatment.
Canadians don't want Canada to become a U.S. colony, though our Prime Minister Mr. Harper is playing with the thought - I think.

There are countless factors, the NHL's major source of gross sales is value ticket sales. The Canadian communities frequently promote out and value ticket costs are in many situations larger. Montreal and Toronto have a respectable television marketplace. the second one reason is the Relative power of the Cdn vs US dollar as all sales are measured in US money. 5 years in the past 100 and fifty million cdn gross sales change into equivalent to 100 million US. right this moment it truly is extra like 100 and forty Million US. devoid of elevating value ticket costs gross sales measured in US money merely went up 40%. those communities are also making an major income because the salaries are nevertheless paid in US money and the countless communities like Toronto wo were spending 70 plus million in income pre lockout are literally restricted to the cap. a large portion of the higher cap is via the depreessed US dollar. If the U. S. dollar constructive houses power with each and every thing else being equivalent the cap will drop.

I'm afraid you have made a wrong judgment call. Canadians don't think they're better than others... Canadians are very humble and friendly in general (I can generalize as you seem to think one conversation in one city represents all opinions of an entire country).
There are thousands of lovely, friendly Americans, but in general, Americans are becoming known as arrogant. Although Canadians have long stood by their American neighbours, the American attitude is becoming harder for many countries to swallow... including Canada.
Holding themselves above other people is very un-Canadian... in fact that would be a very American thing to do. However, Canadians ARE beginning to dislike Americans (but only in general). I don't know one Canadian who isn't open to being friends with individual Americans.

I doubt all Canadians feel better than their U.S. counterparts -- are you sure they were aganist the U.S., and not just against current U.S. policy in Iraq?
Canadians *do* have a great deal to feel proud of, especially the fact that, despite their liberal gun laws, their violent crimes are *significantly* lower than ours. But folks in the U.S. have a lot to be proud of as well. If we could stop acting like bullies, other countries might even start noticing those things of which we can be proud.

I'm Canadian and I'm married to an American. I personally don't like to generalize and talk about Americans or any other group as a whole when each one is different. I really feel disapointment when I hear Canadians talking negatively about anyone. The second anyone starts putting another person or group of people down it only makes them look bad in my honest opinion.

You are outside of the USA and you are surprised to hear anti US comments?? I guess its time for you to wake up and smell the coffee. The USA has to understand that not everyone believes 100% in they politics. The world does not revolve around the USA.

Canadians do not hate Americans, we just don't agree with some of the government policies. We have no problem with the people.

America is not seen in a good light internationally since Bush has been President. He and the far right media have made America's shine tarnish.
