I have to agree with the previous poster - if you don't know the author's message and the purpose of the book, then it's fairly obvious you didn't read it to begin with. The answers to your questions are obvious from the first few pages. It is, in my opinion, one of the best books I have ever read, and it well worth you reading rather than having people do your homework for you.

This is my opinion
the symbols i know are: Tom is a mockingbird, does no sins and only does good
its a sin to kill a mockinng bird and since they kiled Tom it was a sin to kill Tom, that is why all the bad things happend to the bad people, the book wants to abbolish racism , get rid of hate, it shows that one person can make a difference in society even if the world is agianst them, everyone can make a difference or a change for the good if they try

The title in itself is pretty much the book.
"To Kill A Mockingbird"
It's like Atticus said, to kill a mockingbird would be a sin because they only sing their hearts out for us.
Boo Radley is a Mockingbird in a sense because he's constantly being bothered by Scout and Jem who are obssessed with him and what he must be like.
The man on trial, Tom Robinson, is another example of the mockingbird being a major symbol. He was always kind to Mayella Ewell and his kindness was repaid by her proposotioning him and her father catching her. Which causes for them to falsely accuse Tom of raping Mayella to cover the shame.
These are what I consider a major part of the story on how society back then treated people that were different and judged them. And it's interesting to note that we haven't really changed much only on the surface.
