the United States of America stands for democracy and equality. however everytime a conflict arises across the world, we intervene. the US prevents other nations from obtaining nuclear weapons of capabilities of any kind and yet we have the largest inventory of weaponry in the world. is the US the "justice" of the world? does America have the right to judge other nations as if we were superior?

Well said.....

And no...they don't have that right. That is why America's political views are so hated by other countries....HYPOCRISY should be their motto...

When a super power country goes into another country to help the people, in the end the people of that country begin to hate the country that is helping them. This is because in the wake of freeing the people there are casualties. So they begin to blame us for killing their citizens, seemingly to forget we were on their side and the citizens were being killed by their own government. It is a dilemma that America faces anytime they send troops into another country. On top of that we have citizens in America that think the same way. The USA has been the most compassionate country in the world for a very long time. Even helping the countries that have declared war against us. And still they hate us. For us bringing their down fall? Or because they want the power and prestige we have? Who knows? Countries are run by human beings, and some are evil and greedy. Now we have a President who seems to think we have to apologize for all the evil we have done around the world. Now doesn't that make our enemies happy? You bet! There will be repercussions from what Obama has done and continues to do. By his making America weak economically and not being on top of the terrorist threat he has given our enemies the chance to over throw us. And if you don't believe that could happen, then you are living in another world and have no idea that history does repeat itself.

Caker King ... Your points sound valid in theory, but I'd ask you to look at it this way.

Suppose you own a really nice and expensive home in the suburbs (or where ever) and someone dumped a pile of trash right in front of your home. Would you leave it there because no one from your home left it there? You'd take care of the mess whether you did it or not.

Suppose there's a fire engulfing many homes on the next street and burning embers are getting closer and jeopardizing the homes on your street? Do you watch things get worse, or do run over to the next block to give your neighbors a hand?

Now about America ... We've got the best "house" on the "block" and BAD guys want to get bigger and powerful weapons. In your state, there's probably a law that says ex-cons, felons, etc., are not permitted to legally buy weapons. So, what do we do about punk dictators of corrupt regimes who've already promised to do us harm? Yes, we can try to appeal to the U.N., but in the end, we've got to take care of ourselves cause other people/nations aren't doing it for us.

Does it make more sense to you now? By the way, other nations DO have nuclear weapons, but we don't make such a fuss about it if the government of that country is stable and if they haven't sworn to try and wipe us out.

The United States almost has to be a police of the world, without us the world'd country's in dire need would crumble. They may disagree with the ways that the US handles their country, and the way we handle situations may not always be right, but the United States can maintain its own safety and the worlds safety by interacting with countries in a big brother kind of way, it doesnt always work way. Also the US is only willing to help countries that are in need of help, such as over throwing a bad leader, if they are willing to become a decocracy, there for makeing them a country with similar needs and interests as the US.

I agree that the US acts too much like the 'police man' of the world. always in other ppl's affairs. But when WW2 broke out and the Holocaust was happening, America did nothing becuz we did not want to 'get involved'. But Japan attacked us anyway even though we were not officially in the war. So now we intervene in everything.

if you haven't noticed in your street, in your state, in your country, and in the world,, corruption and violence are happening on a daily basis,,some body of government has to step forward and police the matter,,
its kind of like fighting the bully at school, you might be wrong if you fought , but sometimes you have to step up, as far as judgment there are laws that the nations of the world are supposed to go by

I really don't know if America has the "right" - but I sleep better at night knowing countries like Iran don't.

Maybe if everyone would police their own backyards we wouldn't have to. Also I could care less about anyone else, what matters to me is, what is in the best interests of the country I live. Go USA!
