Repressing it would harm you psychologically. You should accept who you are and embrace it. You will be a happier person. There will be people that meet you in the future that will love you for who you are, if they aren't already. Do not let negative thoughts or opinions of homosexuality keep you from being a healthy individual.

It's hard, isn't it? Being different, and sometimes being scorned for something you can't control. But think about this: Normal people, are the people who scorn you, who make you feel like **** for being who you are. Normal people judge people first and ask questions later. Do you want to be normal? I don't.
There probably is some way to repress it, I'm sure, but it isn't healthy. Nature made you to show you off, afterall. Maybe some people will scorn you for being true, and not hiding, but there's about 2 GILLION people in the world, and if one or two don't like you, then there's about a gillion more people just waiting to be your friend.
I'm not normal, and I probably never will be. And I thank the Gods that I'm not. I don't think I could live with myself, if I were normal.

What is your definition of normal? You seem to be giving a great example of how repressing ones gayness causes sadness and heartache. If you choose to stay in that proverbial closet, then do so, and stop screaming through the door at the people who are happy. You alone keep the door to your own happiness shut, don't blame others for you misery.

You are normal. Being gay is normal for approximately 10% of the population. Repression is not healthy, and filled with woulda, coulda, shoulda.
By the way, 'acknowledge' was spelled correctly. Try to have more self confidence. You'll be a happier person for it.
Good Luck. Rob

If it is eating at your mind day and night you need to see a therapist and get that under control. If you are truly gay accept it as who you are and get on with your life. You will find that if you can get comfortable with yourself, your life will get much better. If you feel that you have to not acknowledge it are you sure that you are really gay?

Being gay is not abnormal.
And the only way to "repress" it is to lie to yourself and everyone around you.

"make yourself normal"
Stop being silly and just embrace and be proud of who you are! There is nothing to be ashamed of! Some Christian groups believe that homosexuality can be cured.... But they just end up causing more problems! Check out this interesting google video on "gay conversion". http://video.google.com.au/videoplay?docid=-7180551825484297720&hl=en-AU

Homosexuality is a failed spiritual battle, in which the weak unknowledgeable mind succumbs to the persistent attack of the unseen assailant. The only way you can ultimately vanquish this opponent, is to PRAY. Pray and present your problem to GOD, admit the LORD is the saviour, and be patient. Nothing happens overnight, but be sure that you will not have to emerge from the closet appearing to be a winner, when in fact you are been duped by the evil that is everpresent. Pray my friend, you are not gay, and its not natural to be gay, as some would say hoping to strengthen their ranks with a newcomer. Stay in the light of truth, PRAY and learn of GOD. Only thru the LORD can you be witheld from this lifestyle, and try hard to maintain until the conversion is complete. It will happen my friend, only if you believe.

YOU ARE NORMAL EVEN IF YOU'RE GAY!!! that's the first misconception that needs to be cleared! Just because you are attracted to someone of the same sex doesn't mean you're screwed up. don't deny who you are. in the end you'll only end up misserable. own who you are. love yourself. surround yourself with people that love you. the more ok YOU are with you being gay, the more ok others are ok with you being gay. please don't deny yourself happiness just because someone else might not approve.

As they said, "Homosexuality IS NORMAL." But, if your conscience gets to much for you (and it should NOT) then you can take anti-depressents to lower your sex drive to where you don't even have one.
You just have to find a psychiatrist who will prescribe for those reasons.
