The problem is not the possession of ASAT missiles (Clinton sold them the technology). It was that the destruction of that satellite at that altitude imperils other satellites at that altitude. The debris field will grow larger over time and will not be geosynchronous.

Had the Chinese launched a lower level satellite for the purposes of the test it would have been much less controversial. And the US is not the only country angered as the debris may potentially effect dozens of communications and GPS satellites.

The US and Russia stopped anti-satellite tests back in 1985. Also, China signed an agreement about such things not too long ago. China is breaking the agreement -- or at least backsliding on it.

The US has good reason to be concerned. If China continues to do what it's doing, the US would have very little choice but to resume its long dormant anti-satellite tests. Russia, of course, would also resume. Then, it could trigger a war in space -- kind of like Star Wars.. ahaha

We can and do have every weapon imaginable.
Nobody else (to my knowledge) is allowed this. Hence we are the head cheese. And that is the way it should stay, However wrong it is.

democracy works within a government...what you are talking about is outside our government and to look out for our own best interests.
