My room-mate and I started going out, but we aren't sure how to tell our parents. My friends say that when you're living with a guy you're dating everyone assumes you're having sex, and I think we don't really want our parents to think this. We're 22 year old computer programmers who just learned to make out so uhm yeah. Do i just say, "oh yeah by the way my room-mate and I are dating now?"

Why don't you wait and see where this is going? If it only lasts a little while, no reason to get your parents all upset. And if you two fall in love and want to make a go of it, then it won't be any problem to tell your parents. Chances are that if your parents see the two of you together they will pick up on some small subtle mistakes . . . eye contact, smiles, touches, etc.

It is only suspicious to many people in this case even to your friend that you two are having intimate relationships. First, you cant stop the people from talking. Deal with that. I suppose your parents were cool that you have a male roommate. I suggest you to bring the roommate to meet your parents maybe a dinner or so. Have him get the family a little gift like flowers or a fruit basket. It is considered a manner as long as your parents favor him. You can be cool and talk to your parents that you guys are dating and need their trust in you that you wont be goin to do anythin (sex) if it isnt time. As you gain the trust, you should keep it as well. Sex is to be kept pure till marriage. Premarital intercourse is an abomination to God and often results in breakups, heartbreaks, unwanted pregnancy, and diseases. Be careful that you wont give into emotions and hormones. Wish you the best between you and your roommate.

If they never met the old boyfriends why do they need to meet the new one? Also you're 22, grow up, you shouldn't do it if you're embarrassed by it.

Look girl. You're an adult so do what the hell you want. Its perfectly leagal to be shagging your roomate even if you aren't dating him.

Make sure you get all kinds of experience. You know what I mean? Your husband way in the future will greatly appreciate it.

Just be honest and tell them when you feel you are ready to. You will know the right time to tell them.
