Assuming this is Windows. Use a DOS bootable floppy that includes the fdisk.exe utility. When the computer boots type:

fdisk /mbr

This will rebuild the Master Boot Record.

Now you may have a problem if the filesystem is NTFS.

Hi there.

Try running in MSDos window the following command:

fdisk /mbr

It simply re-writes the MBR and the other boot sectors.

If it has stopped responding try rebooting.
