Not if you are in favor of cheap labor. Nafta has caused unemployment in Mexico to rise 20%, so Mexicans are hungrier than ever. US corporations love the idea as they can get the cheapest labor either way; if they have remain here, they get Mexicans at the minimum wage or less, and if they can afford to move their company to Mexico, they can get Mexicans at .75c/per hour. The SPP is a win win for Republicans.

There will be no North American Union. There are such fundamental differences between the cultures of the US, Canada and Mexico that any such union would come down crashing faster than the speed of light.

It would be illegal immigration to the nth degree. Doesn't Bush get it that they don't give 'free' universal education in Mexico so that every parent short of the rich ones will be better off using our already overcrowded and failing schools? And health care? Etc?
