i take night classes once a week, and the other day I was waiting at the door for my ride to come pick me up. There were about 5 or 6 teenage boys standing there also waiting for there rides and I felt so nervous. Why was I so scared around them? I mean, they were 10th graders and I'm 22! I'm so much older than them! They weren't even doing anything, they were just hanging out and talking.

It's understandable. Teenage guys tend to be young punks and are usually not afraid of the law. I nearly had a run in with three 13 y.o punks late one night. I think they were hoping to mug me and I sensed it and it was too late to turn back so I walked forward with confident forceful strides and I could feel their eyes on me. And I was right b/c later I found out they attacked another guy that night and the cops were lookin' for them. Always trust your intuition.

You felt akward in a social scene with none of your friends around to talk to and just standing there doing nothing. Youy may have felt insecure with nothing to do. People react differently to akward situations. I'm very much the same.

Maybe it was your intuition talking to you, you felt uncomfortable for a reason.... and being OLDER than THEM don't mean a thing. Unless you are a world class fighter, martial artist and hit-man all rolled up into one.

These are strange times and scary for the most part, listen to yourself and be careful. God is always with you

I don't know but I would suggest you get to know them. I have two teenage boys and they are the most fun kids to hang around with. They are smart and funny and generally good company. They probably think you are a hot babe.

That's nothing to sweat, although it might have something to do with isues about insecurity, or self-inadaquecy. I mean a todler can be intimidating to somebody who had a poor childhood just because that's the experience they come from.

You need to have confidence..dont ever let anyone see that ur scared or nervous especially when they're not doing anything to u..when you're confident nobody can make u feel threathened by them..

the same thing happens to me! I don't know why that happens, maybe because they are a bunch of guys and we are just one person, maybe afraid of them talking to us and we wouldn't know what to do or say, or even worse, I'm afraid they might start laughing at me for no reason, or stare at me, that just makes me nervous.

Because they hang out in "packs" at that age for support. I would be much more worried about teenage girls if I were you.
