This is not the answer you are going to expect from an old lady but yes, graffiti is an art form. As a matter of fact, some of it is very beautiful and thought provoking. To me for it to be art, it must be an expression of your soul or it has no meaning. I believe much of the graffiti of our youth does that. When it is just gang signs and saber rattling I'd question the artistic intent of that but when a young person is pouring his heart out in response to events in his or her life, like love, hate, poverty, or violence, it is as much of an art form as literature, music or dance. Just make sure you have something to say and that it moves your soul to say it. Try to put it somewhere it will not cause an undue burden to the owner of your canvas when they are forced by the city to cover it up.We have some permanent works in our town that is very lovely and has much meaning. Be the best at what you do.

Art is whatever you think it could be. There is no limit! Some people think throwing change on the floor and seeing a pattern is art, some people paint a soild colored sheet of paper and call that art, and some use trash to sculpt a scene. Graffiti is definitly art. If you are thinking if Graffiti will be mentioned as a type of catagory or style like in an art book in college, probably not! It woud fall into modern art.

Graffiti of any form, everywhere isn't paintings. a inventive crucial should be cutting-edge to be paintings. Graffiti is 1000's of years previous and a fashion human beings say "i develop into right here". only because letters are adorned, the outcome isn't paintings. Is " John loves Mary" scratched or sprayed on a rock in a nationwide park paintings? doubtless, it isn't. If a heart image replaced "loves", may it then be paintings? No. that is only vandalism, no count the position that is. From an inventive perspective, once you note graffiti on trucks, rail automobiles or bridges, the photos or designs are not to any extent further unique, only ameliorations of an similar issues carried out an similar strategies.

Of course not.
Graffiti is nothing more than unwanted scribbling on unauthorized locations by undesirable school dropouts with malicious and vandalous intent.
Oh, and by the way...it's against the law.
