I do not think that a man's role is/or should have changed in the recent past. Men have always had choices - at least I think you have. Men have always been either rogues or family men. I am not sure what you mean about the shoe on the other foot and it sounds like you have some sort of anger happening.
The bottom line is that the choice is yours. I could talk about your 'God given' role, but maybe you do not respect or believe in God or any authority above man. In that case you are the one in charge. You can do what you want with your life and with the lives of those you may hold precious to you.

Good luck with whatever you decide. Just be open and honest with those you deal with - because anything other than honesty aobut your intentions would really be wrong. Treat others with great care and you can always hold your head up because you did what was right. That is really the most important thing, to live with integrity.

Don't put everyone in a bucket of your assumptions. Not all men are unwilling to be a father. The male role and the female role are a defintion of opinion.

A man's role should be whatever he chooses, despite pressure from women, other men, and society as a whole.

If a man wishes to start a traditional family, that is his choice.

If a man does not want to slave for his entire life at a job he hates only to lose his fortune in divorce or through the government, that is his choice.

If a man wants to seek relationships with women outside of the U.S., that is his choice.

Never care about anyone's expectations for your life or what you're "supposed" to do with it. Live in a way that makes you happy and prosperous. That's what real men do.

Men should Go Their Own Way.

I refuse to support a culture that treats men like disposable garbage to simply be tossed aside when they are deemed to no longer be useful.

To ditch it. Mans role in modern society is defined by women so it should be discounted by men.
Man up!

Well, untill men start going into labor, it ain't gonna change a lot...
untill women get sick of seeing their children, and other women's children dying and mutilated in wars, it ain't going to change a lot.
until women get tired of seeing religion twisted, so that they can only be virgins or prostitutes it ain't going to change a lot
untill women run this country, the Supreme Court, the Congress and the White House, it ain't going to change a lot...........
AND HILLARY ISN'T GOING TO CHANGE IT.. in my humble opinion I'm all for a woman but not just any woman........and nope I'm not Republican..one of those unafilliated souls looking for the real thing...............
