You have to lit at the Bit Rate and the number of users...be careful! If it has too many hosts, then it is susceptable for "illegal download"...
If you ever get a message that says "corrupt" and it is almost 100%, just delete it and find another. Most people that have answered have it right about not knowing for sure. When you move your mouse over the name or artist, a message block appears and says some info about album, artist, length, etc.... and that is one way to check it out.
Other than that, it can be hit and miss!!! Good luck and happy downloading!!!

I don't think there really is a way to tell..I normally just choose the songs with the highest number of hosts.

You can enable a bit rate tab, but really you can't judge the conditions the song was recorded under without downloading the song.

Not that I advocate piracy or anything.

hosts have nothing much to do with it

there are numbers down the right side for bit rate, pick one with a higher bitrate, not below 128 if you can help it. Careful though, the hier rate ones take up more space

Usually, the more people that have that song, the better it is. By default, the second column in your search results tells you how many people have it.

look for the bitrate on the side

if it says "192" then that's CD quality (which is gooood)
