It means you have no arc on your shot, but its not because you don't have back spin, and it doesn't mean you'll hit the front of your rim. Its that you don't use your legs enough to elevate and release, and it means you are pushing the ball not shooting it. What I mean is you push your arms straight towards the net and release and its kind of like a line drive. What you need is one fluid motion. You gotta bend your elbows to 90degrees, and move your arms UP not straight, and release with a flick of the wrist, and all power should come from the elevation from bending your knees and jumping straight up.

Think of the trajectory of a ball. Normally you'll shoot it with a decent amount of arc, more if you're a short person trying to get it over a hulking center. Decrease the arc and the shot gets "flatter", savvy? Flat shots have more severe bounces as compared to shots with higher arc that tend to bounce more upwards.

It means you don't have any ark when you shoot. If you shoot flat then basically it's just like throwing the ball dead on.

If you're talking basketball, it means that your shots do not have much arc on them. A certain amount of arc is the preferred technique in developing a good "shooting touch".

You don't have enough backspin on your shot. You need to flick your wrist more into your shot, this also improves the accuarcy of the shot.

You've got to patch the bullet hole, then reinflate it before you can use it again. Anything over 9mm is tough.
