Yes up until Ellie, switching instantly from sitting on the windowsill to cowering in the corner of the room doesn't work, leave her on the windowsill, just have her pull her legs to her body, making herself a tiny ball. Also I would the lightning illuminating her view rather than missing her by miles - sounds a bit clunky. But apart from that, I would buy it to read on, very good.
