This happened to me. I was moving from Australia to the US and I was having a going away party with my sister. Some of my closest friends presented me with this really enormous picture frame. It's about a 2 by 2 meter square. It's wood and it's got little mini frame in different shapes. My friends took all the pictures they could find from when we were in elementary school until we graduated middle school and stuck them in an abstract mix of photots inside the frame.

The coolest thing was, it was done by year and by season. For example, everything during the winter in first grade was clumpled together and everything during the summer of seventh grade was clumped together. That way, I could see how we grew up together and what we did (ie, swimming, skiing, surfing, dancing in the rain). The gift made me cry and it is currently sitting on a wall in the hallway. I love it.

If you aren't into scrapbooking now would be a good time to start. Get a group of friends together and go to a Hobby Lobby or similar store. They have every thing you need to put together a lovely picture/scrapbook. Your friend will treasure that.
