I had a doctor appointment when i was 34 weeks along ( im 35 now ) and my ob said that my baby had dropped and it shouldnt be too much longer. Also I have been measuring 3 weeks ahead of my due date. Since then i've been having alot of stomach cramps, back pains, braxton hicks and I think i lost my mucos plug, but im not sure. And Ive been having this horrible pain between my legs that feels like my baby is going to fall out of me!! For those of you who have had babies, do you think I will have mine soon? I am so ungodly uncomfortable and I dont know how much longer I can stand it.

It sounds like you'll go soon, but don't set your heart on the date that people give you -- even the doctors. I had an ultrasound when I was in my 6th month, and the technician said that, based on the length of some bone in the leg and the size of the head, I needed to move my date up from Oct. 22 to Oct. 14th. When I went back to my doctor, she said that ultrasound measurements are about 95% accurate on due date but that she didn't want to change my due date because I knew precisely when I got pregnant. Even though I knew that the 22nd was the correct date based on normal gestation, I got really fond of the idea of moving the date to the 14th as the pregnancy progressed and I felt kind of like a beached whale.

Well, the 14th passed, the 22nd passed, and I was still pregnant at the end of October, even though I walked for blocks and did just about everything (within reason) that people suggested might start contractions. The doctor finally had to take her by C-section on November 6, and she said that she was definitely overdue (which they can tell in various ways, including whether the lanugo is still on the skin) even though she was healthy. So, even though the technicians and their 95% accurate techniques said Oct. 14, my daughter was determined not to be born until 15 days after her original due date, on November 6!

Just be patient. Your baby will come when he or she is ready, and if it's necessary to force the birth for the baby's health or yours, the doctor will intervene. In the meantime, try to stay comfortable.

I have 2 babies and I still don't know what a mucus plug is. Has your water broke? The last few days are uncomfortable. Are you having contractions? You should call your doctor when they are like 10 minutes apart so he can meet you at the hospital. It depends on where you live in the country or in the city but I left my house when my contractions were 5 minutes apart and the hospital was like 20 minutes away. When the baby is minutes from being ready to come out it will feel like you have to take a poop but you don't. Its just all the pressure. If your worried call your doctor. Good luck!!

lol I know just how you feel! I was overdue too and the leg cramps bugged me more than anything - that and the fact I couldn't sleep for more than 90 minutes without getting up to pee. My dr. induced me at 36 weeks and the baby came August 1st, 2006 - he is six months now and cute as a button. I was very lucky - one hour of labour, only ten contractions and then, whoosh! There he was. The pain is pretty intense - there was no time for my epidural to work - but since it was over so quickly that was okay. As I said to my husband, I've always been one to pull the band-aid of quickly :D.

Good luck - as soon as the baby comes, you will have about a week of a really sore you know what, and peeing will hurt, but then you're all healed up and enjoying your new baby. Cheers!

No matter how much technology we develop we will never now the exact date that the baby will be born. It does sound like it is soon. If you have lost your mucous plug then I would go to the hospital and it sounds like your having contractions. It doesn't hurt to go and get checked out.

Well, my son dropped weeks before I delivered, and I had braxton hicks starting weeks before too, so you never know. However, pay attention because you definitely have a lot of signs that it's going to happen very soon. Don't stress! :)

I know it's hard, but RELAX!!!

Sit on the couch, prop up your feet, and relax for a few more days.

But, my doctor told me that hot showers can kick start labor.
The hot water on your chest causes nipple stimulation and can start labor. And hot water on your lower back, helps with contractions.

Good luck!

You would know if you have lost your mucos plug. I have three children and with each child I went into labor within three days of losing my mucos plug. Make sure you time your contractions but it sounds like it could be soon. Keep busy and walk walk walk! GOOD LUCK!
