I don't recall having seen any commercials for impoverished children in America....but for children across the pond, they seem to run day and night (or did when I watched tv).
I think poverty outside of this golden country is more severe, there is widespread famine over there, and here, there are social service programs in place to help people who will sign up for them. we have soup kitchens and meal programs. we are in general a very rich country.
we have too many "rich" people who do fertility clinics here, who would be grateful to have a child of their own, but one who is already waiting for someone to adopt them, aren't of their own genetic material, are therefore "not good enough", and then, "we're still trying", want a child of their own genetic makeup. I think a lot of really great kids in America get overlooked because it's not so publicised, but more hush-hushed or swept under the rug. But at least most of them will grow into adulthood.
I do think the numbers of kids in third world countries have such poorer chances for life to ever improve or even come to fruition, as child mortality is far worse in other places like that.
I'm guessing the stars you mentioned are trying to save at least one or two children, who otherwise might not have a snowball's chance to live to adulthood.

I'm so sick of people criticizing Angelina and Madonna for their efforts to help a child. It's a lot harder in the USA to adopt a child why do you think lots of people adopt from china or other places?. Plus Madonna doesn't live in the USA anymore. people are people no matter where they're from or where they adopt them from, it's all universal

A lot of children who need to be adopted in this country come with a lot of problems. Some of the problems stem from their parents drug habits, and they are more challenging than a lot of people are able to handle.

i do not see why a baby, followed at start, may pick to be dealt with any in yet in a unique way then a baby born right into a kin. That makes no experience to me. i in my opinion do not imagine spankings are the answer except in situations even as the newborn is putting himself/herself right into a existence threatening project (IE walking out into site visitors after being advised no longer to go away his/her dad and mom side...a spanking is a actual reminder of what might want to happen in the experience that they were hit through a automobile) yet in case you experience its ok for little ones born right into a kin, are you able to describe WHY you imagine its no longer ok for an adoptive newborn? a baby is a baby is a baby. i'm sorry yet they ought to no longer be dealt with any in yet in a unique way for that reason.
