Ok, the biggest criticism of Donald Rumsfeld was his military plan for Iraq...

Rumsfeld believed in using less troops in Iraq, and more technology (airstrikes, tanks, machine guided airplanes, etc.)...

And essentially, according to the democrats.. at the time, we were slowly winning/failing in taking over key parts of Iraq.

The democrats were not happy with that, so they forced him to resign, essentially.

And now, the Democrats are saying that we need to lower/relinquish our troops in Iraq....

I mean, before they were unhappy with America's success in Iraq because of the limited number of troops/funding Rumsfeld sent..

and now they want to end the number of troops/funding sent to Iraq...

Would that mean you LIKE Rumsfeld? Or is there something more to it? Was Congress afraid of Rumsfeld because he was doing exactly what the Democrats wanted (lowering funding/troops), and showing exactly how much of a failure it was?

also, why did the Democrats get so uptight and defensive when President Bush or the media talked about Rumsfeld?

Were they afraid that people would realise that what Rumsfeld was doing was failing... and what the Democrats were planning on doing was exactly wat Rumsfeld was doing, before he resigned?

It is all polical. There is no sense being concerned with facts. Both sides are interested in the APPEARANCE of them solving problems. The actual solving of problems is a distant second on the priority list.

We wanted to go in with much larger numbers but Rummy said no. We allowed Bush to run this war and he FUBAR'd it. No matter what we do now, we lose. Send in more troops: the more troops we lose and the sectarian violence escalates. Decrease the number of troops the sectarian violence escalates.

it's a dammed if you do or dammed if you don't scenario now.

Go figure! They've been flip flopping over Iraq ever since it started and Hillary is their flip flop icon. Sometimes I think dealing with the dems/libs is like a train wreck. I try to walk away from their mess but I get drawn back by the insanity of it! If we win this war you know it's going to be all their doing.
