None that I know of for just general rings, but often they do have meaning for the person, or just a pretty ring the person likes.

after my dear husband died, I began wearing his wedding band on my thumb. It reminds me that someone really loved me just as I am.

my closest friend and I got ours on a long weekend together to celebrate the anniversary of our friendship and our trip together, I know alot of people that just got them because they like the look
