I don't care what Britney Spears or her gigolo ex-husband are doing and I haven't been to the theatre in years because motion pictures have become so lame, but many people expect everyone to know what show biz people are doing.
Why should I care what they are doing? I have my own life, family and friends to worry about.

Lonely people with no life of their own spend $billions$ every year on tabloid magazines. As long as people keep buying them the entertainment industry will think everyone is interested.
