Limewire, just as other P2P programs, can be safe or not, depending on how you protect your computer. A good antivirus and antispyware can be your first step and the basic knowledge on files is the second step. There are a lot of bogus files being shared and be wary off these files... examples can be, you are searching for a song and you see a file named Songtitle.exe, would you download that? of course not since songs usually have an extention of mp3, wmv etc...
Just avoid these file extentions. BAT, EXE, CMD, and i think you will be safe.

You can get a lot of great files from Limewire but be sure you have a good functioning anti-virus program.

personally, i love limewire. although a couple of my friends HAVE gotten viruses while using limewire, I've had a great experience with it so far. just make sure to preview songs as you download them.

I use limewire but you have to be careful. I have been trying Ares Galaxy and it seems much cleaner. Try it.

limewire is a good program,but you need a good antivirus program,or you will get worm infected fast.one or two days your computer will be through.

not safe at all. It downloads a lot of viruses to your computer as well

I have been using it on the advice of a friend and I have not had any problems with it ................. yet! LOL hope this helps :)
