To impress her as to his provider prowess so that he can get her into bed and have his way with her, so to speak

he does that to ease his guilt. he feels that if he buys you all those things he will distract you and you will feel that he really loves you or that he's not cheating. when its actually the little things that really matter like calling to see how your doing and spending time with you. my advice...don't accept the gifts. materialistic things cannot make up for emotional pain. it can work for a little while but in the end, the reality of the relationship will come about. if you really want to know just gather more evidence. don't tell him of your suspicions. when you have strong evidence then you can tell him where he slipped. he's trying to cover his tracks and when you tell him your suspicions he will do anything so that the truth won't come out. good luck!!!

He's trying to make up for his cheating and his stupidity. The gifts make some women feel better and the material items "make up" for the wrong that he has done. Some women think it's worth it. I don't. Once a cheater, always a cheater. He can keep his gifts. I have more respect for myself than that. To accept such gifts is to be "bought". I am priceless and so are you.

His messing around can have nothing to do with any lack of love for his woman, lack of respect I suppose. But today soooo many people struggle with monogamy, society encourages us to question the need for it or reason for any sort of exclusivity in all our relationships!

Of course thsoe same people all complain about a lack dependability and accountability... makes you wonder if anyone knows what those mean.

You might want to work on being a little more articulate. I don't think anyone understands the question...
