Puxatony Phil did not see his shadow. This is only the 15th time since 1886. I guess spring will arrive early this year!

It all depends on which ground hog you are talking about. In Ontario, Wireton Willie did not see his shadow. If you check the citynews link below you can see that there are groundhogs in many cities in North America that people look to for their predictions about when spring will arrive!

No he did not see his shadow - so it means an early spring. The dumbest part about this whole theory is that if it is a beautiful sunny day on February 2nd, he will see his shadow and we will continue to get cold miserable weather. If it is an overcast day, he will not see his shadow and we will get an early spring. Either way, spring is 6 weeks away from Groundhog Day.

The groundhog in Dunkirk, NY (Western New York) saw his shadow but Phil didn't. . .Depends on the area, and the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. . .

No but his predictions have only been correct 39% of the time.
That tells me that he will probably be wrong again and there
will be a late spring..

no he didnt in spite of if it doesnt surely rely b/c if he sees his shadow, 6 extra weeks of winter and if he doesnt see his shadow, 6 extra weeks til spring. the two way, its nonetheless going to be chilly for six weeks.
