The best book ever, of course, is the Bible. However, after that it depends on what you like. Every person would have a different answer. I've read a lot of classics, Dickens(A Christmas Carol comes to mind), Twain(Tom Sawyer), A.A.Milne(the Winnie the Pooh stories), but I read a book not long ago which might be up there some day. The Ghost of the Cavalier. If it isn't in the bookstores now I think you can order it through Amazon.com, or some other bookseller. Your local bookstore might be able to order it. I really enjoyed it, several times.

the bible i mean it's sold more copies around the world than any other book can come close to with a stick! it's lasted for over 2000 thousands years, (not even mentioning how long the Jews have had the five books of the old testament) i mean even if your not religious you can't deny it as the best book ever.

What a difficult question. In terms of importance, the Bible and Don Quixote spring to mind, both for their contributions to the evolution of printing presses and fiction. Then again, how can I ignore Spencer, Chaucer, etc. etc.
However, I think you're asking for a personal favorite? In terms of a perfect meshing of intellectual fulfillment and readability, my vote goes to As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner.

In my opinion the best book ever would have to be *The Child called "IT" by Dave Pelzer I love it because its about a little boy who is abused by his mother and he cant do nothing about it he lives through days without eating and has to steal from school in order to get a sprinkle of food in his mouth!

I don't beleive there is a book that far surpasses all other books. the bible is the most holy book to me. However, to other people, other books are better. It really depends on your personal opinion.
