By General Elections, I review the key player's positions, words, and actions since one of them will be voted into office. Like GratefulDead06, I feel most times like I've had to pick the 'lesser of two evils' because the person I felt would do a better job was knocked out in the primaries. So as much as an Independent Party Candidate may have a good message and the actions to back it up, pole numbers that low will not get them into office - just be a spoiler to one parties' candidate. I will not waste my vote on that end - it will be toward which of the 'evils' at that point in time I feel may be able to best carry out the duties of the President. And that will be whichever party candidate meets those qualifications I am looking for.

John McCain He is a remarkable politician, he is an American hero whom has already demonstrated his integrity time and again.
He is conservative in foreign affairs and far more moderate on social issues thus very capable of UNITING rather than DIVIDING us as a nation.
Many other parties exist; Green, Constitution, Independent plus many others. Problem is if any of them get voted in as president the Democrats and Republicans would finally unite only to squash anything the new party president would want to accomplish. Third party candidates must be elected as Senators and congressman in order for a third party president to be effective which I am all for.

Finally I usually vote for Moderate Republicans when the rarity occurs. Moderate Democrats are also on my OK fine list.

Basically I vote Moderate because I feel United We Stand and Divided We Fall. If we ever needed to be United it is now. I feel that the only way towards real progress is if we compromise and elect leaders that have closer ideologies yet in neither extreme.

The problem is I see very few people I believe would make a good president. I don't trust Hillary. Obama is for everyone, which sounds like no one but himself. McCain seems flakey. Rudy appears as our best choice, but there were some decisions I did not like when he was mayor of NYC.

I'm not a party person. I believe in America. And, I believe politicians should work towards what is best for us as a whole. There should not be any special interest groups. Special interest groups are a minority and effects the everyday people.

Don't misunderstand me. I believe in equal rights. I have lived thru those days. For example, having "under God" in the pledge is not a problem for me. Yet, how much controversy, court battles (read into this spending our tax dollars), and media coverage did this get just because a few didn't want their children saying "under God."

If I did not want my child saying this during the school pledge, I would have him/her to be silent during those two words. Yet, we treat this as a major problem while soldiers are dying, Africa is starving, genocide is going on, we're not sure about global warming, and we have a few people worried about two words. If that was the only problems I faced, my life would be pretty sweet.

What I'm trying to say, is we need balance. I don't want people riding in the back of the bus because they have to. But, we can't cater to every injustice (real or imagined), and solve the big problems.

The people who appear to give us the best balance will get my vote.

You might want to wait until AFTER the conventions to ask that one. And you might want to remember, as well, that the secret ballot is a precious right not afforded in all part of the world. It's confidential and that's for a reason. When you ask someone how they voted or how the intend to vote, you are asking them to disclose confidential information about themselves. Do you really think that that's the right thing to do? Would you want someone asking you to disclose confidential information of any type about yourself?

Stop being so foolish and cherish that right of confidentiality.

First choice - Bill Richardson, Second choice - John McCain, Third choice - Rudy Guiliani. I hope one of those names is on the ballot.

So far I will be voting for Hillary Clinton. She seems to stand behind what she says. She seems to care for the american people think and want. She wants to clean this mess that dear ole Bushy boy has gotten us into. She wants women to be free to make up their own minds. Imo she is what is needed to clean up this mess we are in, and is what is needed to get america back on its feet.

I don't know yet.

I do know several that I won't be voting for, though. =D

Seriously though. I'd like to see a Libertarian with a snowball's chance.
