I already have a southern accent (Floridian) but it's not as thick as accents in movies like Sweet Home Alabama, Steel Magnolias, The Notebook, and Remember the Titans. I was wondering if watching movies like this can make my accent stronger for a little while because I always feel like I am and sometimes do talk like them after watching movies like the one mentioned. I know in Sweet Home Alabama Melanie's mom was like "glad to see you got your accent back" so if she (in the movie's at least) can get it back from goin' home and being around those who talk like that then is it kind of the same situation if I hear Southern people in movies? Thanks =]

I think so. I watch a lot of British movies (namely Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, V for Vendetta, and some adaptation of Pride and Prejuice) and I have a tendency to speak in a British accent even though I am from California. That also happens after watching a British show like Extras or Doctor Who.

in case your significant publicity to a 2d language is via videos, then i'd anticipate it would want to influence your accent. what's extra, you're in most cases being uncovered to what's extremely perfect English. except that is a movie set in a particular part of the country the position they have an noticeably definitive accent, it will be English because that is spoken on the West Coast. i imagine it isn't going videos may have an significant impact on your interior of reach language only because you'd be listening to the language from different resources a lot extra frequently than you'll in videos.
