This man from Afganistan who lives here now in the USA on a green card.. Wanted to chat online, okay.. I don't mind making friends, then somehow he found out where I worked, called me every day at work, told me he loved me, he wanted to marry me, it got to the point where I did not want to answer my phone at work or even get online. Then when I played his card and called him constantly, he didn't like it. He knew I was married, yet he thought he could win me over with his money? Are the men in other countries that desperate to come to the USA? A friend of mine fell for a man like that, brought him here, married him, and he beat her constantly. No man, or Money, is worth that to me.

I would like to think there is some logical reason too. But I guess if you are desperate to get here, maybe this is the way.
By the way, I married an illegal. He hasn't screwed me yet, and he didn't pursue marriage at all. But then again...email in a year and see if my life has become all the things that everyone is writing.
I am not insecure. I am not desperate. I just love my husband and we thought to build a life together.
Now I am beginning to wonder.

First off I'm curious how he got your information (name, city, state, etc) to track down where you work. As far as your answer, that has been going on for years, many people want to move here on a permanent basis, look at all the women that marry our soldiers when their stationed in Germany, Korea, etc. Most of them marry our guys, come here, have a baby,get a divorce. Then they get to stay because their child is an American citizen. It's no different with the men, this is the "land of opportunity" and almost everyone wants to come here.

That woman could have reported him to the police and get him deported, this is the USA and the law protects women and children. Any women married or not should be very careful of the men they meet on the Internet the same goes for men.

Yes, because once they are married, they get a green card and later become a citizen. That is not saying all immigrates are like that, but many are, women too, but it is more common for men from other countries. You have to be careful.

Because so many woman are stupid enough to believe these people.Low self esteem, lack of confidence in themselves and very poor judgment are the biggest reasons this happens.I don't mean this to be offensive to you but so many woman fall for all these illegals or for these guys that do have papers with them.To many times these guys talk woman into marrying them and when they are a legal citizen or they have a bunch of kids they cut and run leaving the woman and kids behind to fend for themselves.Sorry sort of venting here.

In some foreign countries, women are subservient to men. You named one of those countries. That's part of their culture. Saudi Arabia is another example. A woman there cannot walk on the street alone without her husband in front of him. In other countries, women can be killed by their husbands if they are determined to be of no value to them. Be very careful.

Women allow themselves to be used. So many women fall for anything that is told them as the gospel truth. I think there should be some very strict laws against such marriages so that it would not be so easy for them to do it.
