Originallly, the indication of no score on a tennis scorecard was an egg shaped zero. The French word for egg is L'oeuf, which has become love because the French version is too hard to pronounce. Don't you just love it? Tennis players play their hearts out on Valentine's Day. They are a noble group. They don't play for the money, they just want to serve. So calm down and stop all this racquet. Don't get all wound up. Just string along with the rest of us, and don't make any backhanded remarks. I hope all of your students give you personalized Valentines cards that show how much they appreciate you. The handmade ones always mean so much more.
