I think it's because they do things that people wish they did. Maybe If people are a little more daring they wouldn't like them as much. or maybe it's cause they know how to play the game and they find out what you wanna hear,and then say it to you,and you feel like a part of them is nice.Until you realize that they are only repeating what you already said,
