Reading is the basis of every subject in school.
If you love reading and you do it often and long you will succeed at ANYTHING you wish. I did and still do.
It is the primary tool for excellent verbal and written communication.
It stimulates the imagination and allows you to vicariously experience situations and events that you would not, if not for the act of reading.
You can travel far and wide curled up in your bed - reading.
It makes you a good and prolific conversationalist and others judge you as intellectual and worldly too.
And lastly, when you enjoy reading the physical appearance of a good book can take on textures and aromas that predicts the excitement within its pages.
I am a reader.

If we couldn't read, then we would be imbiciles, because we wouldn't learn anything. Modern inventions would not have been created because we would have barely found out anything about technology from past, deceased scientists. And our language would be crude, since we couldn't learn to spell. Basically, we'd be stuck in the stone age with the cavemen. ....what's that red and orange glimmer of light I see?!?!?
