This will probably be reported as abuse but I don't care.

This is a topic which is extremely controversial. Many people across the world think that American Southerners are terrible people and many people believe that blacks are being continuously oppressed this is simply NOT TRUE.

First off, whites, blacks, Indians, and Mexicans were all slaves on the plantations. Yes, I know that its hard to comprehend but yes WHITE PEOPLE WERE ALSO ENSLAVED. Thousands of white people were sent from Europe to be enslaved.

Second, blacks are now being racist towards whites in America. This is called reverse racism. This is an undeniable fact. Look at the headlines. They all say White man shoots Black. Its never the other way around.

Third, blacks are intrinsically different from whites in several ways. Blacks are just that; black. they have more pigmentation thus decreasing their skin cancer rates. They also are able to gain muscle mass faster than whites. This has been scientifically proven.

Fourth, if the south split off from the rest of the United States would be the 5th largest industrial power in the world.

Fifth, because of this fact the American Civil War was started. They were not quite the 5th largest power; however they were industrially sound as well as socially. The north did not like this and placed unfair taxes and other restrictions on the south which built up great tension before the war started. Slavery was not the main issue until later. The South never wished to engage in war. Before they succeeded they did everything they could to stop the north from restricting everything. It was the same kind of war as the revolution. Taxation without representation. The south was being restricted heavily, and if you know anything about John Lock and his Social Contract you will see that the South was actually legitimate in what they were doing. John Lock is an extremely influential philosophe (not misspelled) from the enlightenment period in the 1700's.

Now with all of that said, I am not for slavery. I do not believe in unfair holding of another and I have never hit another in my life. I live in Montana as well. Now I do not wish to come off as some KKK member or something but I just think that one should read and truly understand the stance which you take. So many people do not think any deeper than the media. Look, read, think on your own before you come to a conclusion on something as controversial as racism.

If you are not an American then I can not address your political beliefs directly because I am not familiar with them. I can only a only address the attitudes in my immediate area.

I apologize to any individual which I may have offended.

NOTHING!!! Everyone is the same, white or black, I am white and one of the best people I know is black. Your race doesn't change your personality, and if people decide that whites are better than blacks then these people should just go to hell, we're all the same.

Ok seriously, the only difference they have is in the way they scratch their left ear. You see white people scratch their left ear using the thumb and index finger. Black guys use the index and the middle finger....

Geesh.... I cannot understand why one out of five questions has to hint at a difference between black and white people.... get over it guys. Apart from color ( which btw is getting harder to differentiate in many cases) there IS no other difference.

In the US, history has provided whites with most wealth and power, but that is gradually changing. Will power and wealth ever be proportionate to society? Probably not. At least not for a long time.

why is it that only white people ask this question??? its quite obvious. if you want to know you need to open your eyes and stop being so ignorant. look at statistics, racial profiling, discrimination/racism in jobs, poor neighborhooods(mostly minorites/blacks), even Hurricane Katrina. there are lots of factors. there are in the news and all over websites!!!! white people like to turn their heads and act like its not happening when in fact it is. there's no need to feel guilty b/c its not you doing it. just be more open-minded and face reality. just cause your not black/minority doesn't mean you can't be understanding!!!!

Nothing, everyone makes of them selves what they wish. However since there is racism whites do sometimes have a better chance at employment, social acceptance, ect.
