It's not always the opinion of the person asking the question, they are just wanting to find out what people think so keep an open mind and use your energy to think of an interesting answer and not an abusive one.

Some people will make 'use' of anything as a hook to vent their stuff ~ like those with a religious fervour who need to extol the virtue of their belief above that of others and maintain a level of (their) 'Superiority.'

Others, they seek to remain superior by denigrating the sexual preferences of others, or their life-style or politics and so on.

Some have not the ability to express their selves beyond the simplicity of child-like verbal abuse ~ As some children throw their feces about, seeing it and understanding this substances as rude / crude and negative. They (seemingly) refuse to accept the possibility that they can grown beyond the limitations of their 'potty~training.'

And of course, why should they? They don't need to stretch their selves mentally when they have all of that 'ammunition' so ready at hand.

I know, I asked a similar question like yours last week. The answers was some of them are just throwing out whatever's to get their 2 points, and the others are really meaning what their saying. Its all private in Y/A and nobody knows who anyone is so that gives them an advantage to be A-holes and get away with it. Just keep your chin up and don't let it bother you because it don't mean nothing. Did you go in religion & politics? Alot of abuse going on in there! I think most of them are just BS, you know what I mean. Also when they ask about illegal immigrants and other races, watch out for its far more worse than religion & politics! I guess there is alot of prejudice still out there. That's too bad. Keep cool & be cool.

People become abusive because you can not find out their real name - they would probably never dream of acting that way if they were face to face with you (or whoever asks the question) but in Yahoo answers you do not have inhibitions and act like your alter ego.

I rarely see an abusive answer unless the question has been made up to attract one

I think some people are trying to be witty and some feel free to be as rude as they want because it's all anonymous-the person asking the question won't confront them because they don't know the person.

because there are some rude and obnoxious people, who wish to wind others up. as it's the internet, they can be nasty and vicious and not feel as if they will get their come uppance. the truth of the matter is however, if he/she became rude and abusive to our faces in public, then they'd get told off and be rightly condemned for it. i'd say ignore them, report them and give them the thumbs down and move on

I think people think that there opinion matters, and they think that people want to hear it. Personally, I don't want anyone's opinion, unless I ask, or it's from my friends or boyfriend. But some people seem to think that way, I guess it's unexplainable.

Isn't calling yourself "Five Chins" a form of personal abuse?
Unless, of course, you are the mouthpeace for a Chinese family.

I Think the reason some people are rude on here is because they can be.
If your name and address was flashed up on screen things would be much more pleasant.
