Spelling in English is difficult because we have taken bits and pieces from so many different languages. And, once we have taken them, we manage to louse up the pronunciation ... and the meanings ... not to mention the spellings ie polish Polish ... to, two, too ... enough, rough, furlough.

Its always the words. Grammar is no prob. its easy. Memorizing the words is harder.

i think it's 'cause we have so many rule breaking words, strangely spelled words, and too many grammar rules. i think spanish is much easier. they don't have so many odd spellings!
