Well, one can die of heartbreak. When you've spent your entire live devoted to one man, to making him happy and keeping him healthy, you pretty much have given him your soul. And vice versa. When that one person dies, you griev so much that your heart, and your soul have died..and soon your body follows. I hope that is what happens to me when my husband dies. That I follow soon after. I can not bare the thought of being without him or seeing him die. So, i guess you just have to be in love to truly understand.

Usually because they are so close in body and in spirit that when one of them dies a part of the living spouse dies as well... I feel that some people die of a broken heart and that they lose the will to live when their mate dies. Sad but true but very romantic. I agree with that statement very much... Their soul wants to be with their spouse so they die not long after. I feel they are related at times and at other times they are a coincidence.

Couples who have been together for most of there lives don't always die close together but some, soomemore than most do!! My grandmfather passed and a year later she passed. Regardless of modern medicine and the advancements of medicine!! You have a free will!! God gave all of us a free will!! We chose to beleive in God or Not!! We chose to live or die!! Myt grandmother made statements more than once that she truly had nothing else to live for!! She stated that she would not take her life but she will not fight for it either!! She wanted to be in Heaven with her husband!! Now do you believe that there is enternity after this life? That is something you have to decide for yourself!! I believe it is and I know that if I live the way I needed to here on this earth that I will spenod eternity in Heaven and my Soul( that is where you know and love from) will know and acknowledge my love ones!!!

I think when the spouse of older couples passes on, the living spouse goes quickly because of a broken heart. Sometimes the grieving state is to much........

I honestly think it is from a broken heart. I have also heard of pets dying shortly after their human dies.
The flesh is weak, and yes the soul is willing, I do think it is possible.

It is possible. But not always the case. My grandpa on my mom's died in 1969, and grandma died in 94.
Then on dad's side, my grandma on dad's side passed away in 73, and grandpa passed away in 86. So it doesn't always happen that way.

She has to follow him to heaven so the hoochies don't get to him first.(Just kidding). I think after being married for so long older people just can not leave without each other especially when they really loved one another.
