That way each team would have the advantage of playing in their home stadium. If needed game 3 would be played in a neutral stadium. Just about all other sports have a series to decide the champion, why not football? What do you think?

Part of the appeal of football is that on any given Sunday, one team can beat another. It is part of the game. Not only do you have the physical aspects of the game, you also have the mental things!! One coach can put in a trick play, and the other team can react, or not, to it. That is part of the challenge!!

If you tried to make it a best of three, you would change too much of the mental aspects of the game, and also lower the stakes of each game. In the football playoffs, you can go forward or go home! You win, you go to the nest level. You lose, your season is over. When you get to the top level (the Super Bowl) it is the same. You win, you are the World Champions. You lose, you are the same as the other teams, you go home without achieving your goal!!

The system works!! Keep it the way it is!!!

It wouldn't be too much of a "Super Bowl" then would it? It would be more like a "Super Series". This would also mean it would make more sense to play 3 games series the entire play-offs...Which could end up with some teams playing as many as 12 games, or another 3/4 of a team's season. The idea is crazy and the physical and mental pain these players go through can't be held out that long all for the measly greed of owners and fans wanting to see them play and earn money.

There is an old saying that playing in a football game is like being in a weekly car accident. That would be way too many games to play.

Good idea..but after a long season and playoff's. the last thing these guys want is another three games of constant pounding. It takes a toll on your body.. I'm sure the team owners would like the revenue the extra two games would generate!

U cant do that with football because too many injuries happen
thats why they dont have 80+game seasons like the other sports
also the big reason college football doesnt have playoffs

If it is the best of three series, you limit the validity
of that championship. I can hear Jim Rome
and John Madden have a field day over this one.

I think they call it the SUPER BOWL. As in one game, winner takes all. What would you have them call the other 2 games???
No, leave it the way it is, the players don't need anymore abuse to their bodies. One big party for everybody!!
