looks melted. I was wondering if it could have melted onto the inside of the plug in on my computer and know power can't get to the computer.

This same scenario happend to my friend who recently just figured out the problem with a little help from me.Wel see here it may not be your laptop,it may be your battery or charger.See and chck if your charger still works and them check the battery.You can always find what you need on ebay.My friend bought a new charger and battery for 30 bucks total! But ofcorse he bought them from different sellers.

Oh! I had a Dell with a charger that plugged into the cigarette lighter. I never needed to use it...the batteries were fantastic!! sorry can't be more help! Wish i still had that laptop.

It sounds like you have a short circuit inside of your machine. Not very uncommon.

This is not a job for an amateur and may result in a fire if not done correctly. Seek a computer repair center or call for warranty repair if you still have a warranty.
