Does it bother you when a ceo makes $100 MM for doing a terrible job? Or when a company is in trouble, management asks workers to take cuts while at the same time doubling their own pay package.

Does it bother you when a CEO makes millions for doing a GREAT JOB? I bet the answer is yes. Perhaps a better way to examine the problem is ask your self what the root cause of your envy is.

These companies are private organizations with boards elected by the shareholders. Those boards determine the pay nessesary to secure the employment of the Executive they fell will deliver the best possible results. If you don't like it, don't work for the company, invest in its stock. Its that simple. Don't ask big brother government to step in tell a company what it can pay its employees. Perhaps they should step in and put an artificial cap on how much you make surfing the internet at work.

A CEO is an employee. A human. An imperfect being. CEO's sometimes don't hold down jobs too well either. They get those high salaries not because of them or the company but because of the greedy shareholders that want more bang for their dollar. Executive salaries don't bother me they should not bother you either. If you don't like them don't buy from them. I have boycotted Wal-Mart, Ford and other ones. For their policies.

YES!!! Thats why I decided to leave my Mid-Management position in a big company and went back to Grad School to study something in the Health industry that doesn't rely on cutting costs in a budget for a VP that makes 6 times more than me. AMEN!

It's appalling. The world would be a better place if there was a more reasonable range of salaries between mail clerks and CEOs. As it is, they might as well live on different planets...although one is no better than the other.
