if you considered it normal dont come saying "no one cares about my sexuality at work".
I am gay and i find many preachers of gaiety in here are too worried about the world´s impressions about them

I have always been out at work and I have never to my knowledge experienced any backlash or prejudicism. Occasionally there may be an awkard moment when alone with a Gorgeous man but as long as you act appropriately then Who cares.

I also was the first Openly Gay person in My County to refuse to share a Hotel room @ a conference with a Heterosexual man. I knew this man had a drinking problem and did not want him to come back and say that I had tried to hit on him or looked at him funny.

People will only respect you as much as you respect yourself!

Because apart from being ganged up on by bigoted colleagues, some people has to put staying alive as a priority, and let's face it, not everyone wants to be gossiped about by their co-workers about their sexuality; not only does the victim feel isolated at the workplace but he/she might not be given a promotion by his/her superior jsut by being gay. And it's not like they can do anything about it. It is very hard to find a common ground of understanding and camaraderie when one is an out gay in their workplace.

I did, but I said it after a year when I thought it was oke, and actually it was. And a girl I work with saw I was in love (not with her, she didn't knew I am a lesbian) but we always have a lot of fun and she is a good friend, and she asked me who I was in love with. No problems at all
and my boss doesn't know. Why should she have to know it.

but I agree with you, I want to be know as a person and I don't want to label myself or put myself in a box to tell everybody I am gay. It should not be a point of discussion or whatever. I want that the people accept me how I am and how I do my job.

I work at a police department and did not purposely express my sexuality, but when asked personal questions I did not hide it. I talk comfortably about my situation just as anyone with no criticism. They know me as a person, not as a "gay."

GLTB folks in some countries are quiet lucky with a government that made policy that equalled anybody be it gay or lesbian....but some coutry aren't like mine....so coming out in the open is not that encouraged like in workplace...prejudice will always be around to hunt....
