The first thing that comes to my mind is the bedding. When does your hamster sneeze, is it right after burrowing into the bedding? If so, then nothing to worry about there. If it's just sitting there and sneezing, you may want to consider the type of bedding that you're using. You didn't mention what kind you have. Cedar is known to cause problems for small animals and should never be used. Pine can cause problems for a few of them. Aspen shavings are the best kind of shavings to use.
I have over 100 hamsters at any one time and I can tell you that I rarely ever see mine sneeze so there must be something effecting yours. If you change the type of bedding that you're using and still see it sneezing, you may consider the placement of the cage. Is it by an air vent that might be blowing dust at it?
If your hamster had an upper respiratory infection, I would expect there to be more sneezing and some discharge. If you don't notice any of that, I would start looking for anything in its environment that could be irritating it.

Hamsters can catch our colds and flu viruses from us. Has anyone that is around your hamster been sick in the last 10 days? If so, he could have caught a cold. Hamsters also can have allergies that cause sneezing. Another thing is that if you use pine shavings they can get respiratory problems. Cedar is no better. You should always use aspen or critter care brand litter. Just kep and eye on him, he should be fine, but if he develops any trouble breathing, take him to a vet right away.

Funny you ask. I was just having this discussion the other day at a pet store. It seems that hamsters have a very keen sense of smell, and in their native Syria, the animal was first discovered in the 1930s being used by locals in the desert to decide if food was fresh. If the hamster sneezed, the food had mold. Hamsters are highly allergic to mold aparently, so my guess is your hamster came across some mold spores. Either that or it's going to die soon. They sneeze a lot just before they die because they can no longer control their sense of smell.

I wouldn't worry, my hamster sneezes every now and then! It is so adorable! But when he has little sneezes here and there, I simply give him more fresh food, like shavings of carrot and cucumber, it perks him up a bit. Just make sure you give him some extra bedding as it gets colder.

no, think about how often you sneeze. A couple of times a day is normal. Nothing is wrong. Your hampster is perfectly fine. Good luck

It could just be a Hampster cold or dust. Don't worry about it unless it gets worse. If it does just take him to a vet. Hampsters are common pets so the vet should know what to do.

I say he/she has an allergy-like reaction to something around.
