You need to get the DC jack repaired. Check this like for great service. I use them all the time.

Nope, same thing happened to me last week, I was able to hold the cord near the end where it plugs into the notebook and got a connection. I did this until the new one came in the mail. Sucks I know! My new cord cost almost 45 bucks!

No way, Jose, or they would have built USB power supply adapters by now.

Doubt it..

USB is 5V power out.

You need around 18V in, to power your computer.
