It depends on whether you're just starting out or you've been lifting for an extended period of time (at least six months but probably closer to a year). If you're just starting out, two to three days a week of core exercises (benchpress, squats, etc.) is more than enough to get started, and more than that will probably just set you back. On the other hand, if you've been lifting for a long time, you can get away with lifting almost everyday, especially if you split your workouts by what body parts you will be exercising (Shoulders/Upper Back, Arms/Chest, Hips/Lower Back, etc.). In reality though, only bodybuilders and Olympic lifters ever workout that often.

As for the whey protein, unless you have a body type that makes it difficult to put on muscle and you're a vegan, you can probably just save your money and eat a diet that has at least some protein in every meal. If you try that for a month or so (it takes at least a month to see any real progress) and that doesn't work , then consider using a little bit of whey. Too much will destroy your kidneys since you'll be giving your body more protein than it can handle, and your kidneys will have to work twice as hard getting it out.

If you're just starting out, I would suggest going to the library and checking out a few books on weightlifting for beginners. They'll give a lot of information about not just exercises but also how to plan your workout program, how to change it as you advance, and nutrition. Lastly, if you're under 15 you should wait a little while and start after you turn 15, since you risk causing growth and bone problems if you start before your bones have finished growing.

Lastly, if you are thinking about starting an exercise program, always use proper form when you exercise. This cannot be stressed enough, because you need proper form as you advance in weight. If you advance in weight and have bad form, you'll be setting yourself up for injury and chronic pain down the road.

Best of luck to you.

It's okay to lift every day just not the same muscle. You need to give whatever muscle you worked atleast a day of rest otherwise you will keep breaking the muscle down and it will actually get smaller. I'm not positive you should definitely look it up on the Internet.

Don't overwork yourself. The recommended weight lifting plan is to have a powerbar after your workout, and use monday through friday to lift weights, and take the weekend off.

Um yea your pushin yourself way to hard. Workout about 4 days a week and give yourself some rest. You will get way to sore. You also need time for your muscles to develop.

you should work out 5 days a week and let them rest because you want them to have a chance to form muscle if you keep working out yes your getting muscle but not as fast.
