Don't listen to any of these people, if you want to have a baby after 45 then go for it. Although it may be hard to get pregnant, the quality of care you will give your child will be superior. You will bring maturity, wisdom and patience which will definitely help your child develop into a confident and successful adult. That being said there is an risk of disorders such as down syndrome, just be sure to start to take folic acid at least 3 months prior to getting pregnant. You also may want to have an amnio done to make sure there are no complications.
I wish you much success and good luck!

I'm not sure, but it's probably not the best idea to get pregnant at 45. You will be a senior citizen when the child is only 15... You would also be put right into a high risk pregnancy category due to your age. The chances of complications is way increased.

Well as you age you lose eggs, so at 45 there are very few eggs left. Also the chances of having a miscarriage and having a baby with health problems such as down syndrome greatly increase with women in their 40s.
Good news? (maybe) women over 45 are ten times more likely to have multiples!

I just had a baby... I'm 36. My oldest is 17....If I had had them in between (30) that would have been ideal. My husband is 36...his father just died @ 69. Would it be fair to the child to do that now? I think personally, we have pushed the limit. If there is a need for this---adopt a child. There are so many kids 3 & up that need someone. (It was very hard physically this time!) At 45..... I wouldn't do it. I think it would be very selfish. Not to mention the physical aspect.

It all depends on the woman. Some have no problem at all, some feel the need to give up hope becuase it is just not happening.
Your probably best off seeing a fertility doctor and getting a phsycal before you try to get pregnant just to make sure your completly healtly.
There have been woman to start there families after 40 or to have there 10th at 40. Some woman have been known to give birth to healthy babies at 70.

As long as you still have a period, you can still have children. I mean, look at Madonna, that lady from Desperate Housewives (having twins at 45) and Adrienne Barbeau (Maud fame) had twins at 52. You will be more monitored than usual and an amniocentesis will be recommended if you choose to go through it. If you are healthy and finacially stable-- no problem. Who cares what the people think.

Infertility can be caused by a huge number of factors: hormone imbalance, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Endometriosis, Anovulatory Cycles, physical blockage, inadequate hormone production, short luteal phase, lack of lutenizing hormone, high levels or prolactin, and many others. How to get pregnant https://tr.im/YEi25
Poor nutrition often plays a major role, as does exposure to toxins. Age plays less of a role before menopause than was originally thought. While there are many wonderful naturally minded fertility specialists out there, in many cases it is not possible for them to test for and address any of these possible underlying issues.

Statistically between one to three percent of women will get pregnant at the age of 45. The majority of those will occur in women on fertility drugs, who have in-vetro, an egg donor or some other type of doctors intervention.
