Jumper died yesterday. He was a white-and-tan male who loved to bite, but was very playful and lovable. I did not spend enough time with him in his last years. He was about three years old. I need suggestions on how to cope with my grief. Please help.

Find somebody who understands to talk to. Someone who perhaps also knows Jumper. Don't feel guilty about not spending time with him, it won't help. Let yourself cry and feel the loss. Grief just has to be experienced and pass by one it's own. Don't let anybody tell you that it's not important just because it was a hampster. Let youself grieve.

Have a memorial sevice where you friends and family tell fun stories about Jumper. When it is over you go and pick out another hamster, to not replace Jumper, but to fill the void he left in your heart.
