It's great to eat carbohydrates such as pasta (these take longer to digest than sugars) the night before a game.

If you want powerade/gatorade, drink it 6 hours in advance. Our body actually stores the energy for 6 hours before it releases it. The only thing it will do before practice/game will rehydrate you.

Make sure you drink a lot of water. You should drink enough water so your urrine is clear. If it's dark, like apple juice, don't even play (your dehydrated).

Always eat after training (from 20-40 min. after). Don't eat junk food after, eat real food. (instead of cookies, a spoon of peanut butter is great!)

Protien is great! Steak, chicken, sausage, whatever. Just make sure you eat lots of protien.

first off make sure to never eat within 3 hours of a game. it will lower your stamina and you can get a cramp. the night before a game it is very good to eat spagetti. never ever drink energy drinks. they can help you get hyped up but after 30 minutes you will lose all your energy and feel really down. You'll feel very weary and tired.

after you should each some protein

it is also important for athletes to each carbs (Not close to game time tho) so they should never go on a carbs diet...

THIS,UNFORTUNATELY FOR ME, IS EASY TO ANSWER. TORTILLA CHIPS COVERED WITH A BLENDED MEXICAN CHEESE AND GROUND SEASONED BEEF FOR THE ULTIMATE NACHO. a MUST FOR THE SUPER BOWL. NATHAN HOTDOGS...AND ONLY NATHAN! GRILLED TO PERFECTION WITH SOME UNUSUAL MUSTARD--NO KETCHUP. IF YOU'VE NEVER TRIED NATHAN HOTDOGS, YOU HAVE YET TO LIVE ANY KIND OF LIFE.
DON'T PENNY PINCH.....THIS IS THE SUPER BOWL. YOU MUST HAVE A LARGE BOWL OF CASHEWS OR PISTACHIOS ON HAND AS WELL TO GO WITH THE BEER(DO A SAMUEL ADAMS DARK!) AND WHATEVER ELSE YOU CAN THINK OF TO DRINK, BUT THIS IS A START TO GREAT DINING.

im not a dietician
but before matches you want something low in complex carbohydratesm, and high in proteins sufficiently high in water-soluble amino acids. After, you want foods that are relatively low lipid content(need some for energy storage and transport of proteins across membranes) and high in both water and lipid soluble proteins to carry out metabolic reactions
