Are tutors allowed to apply for unemployment during summer vacation?

Since the after school tutor program session is only from Nov-May, are tutors allowed to receive unemployment during the summer months?

I highly doubt it. Only if the company you worked for paid unemployment insurance and then you were laid off. It sounds like this is like a seasonal job so I wouldn't think it would qualify under current rules. However, call your local unemployment office and ask them. Good luck.
