Native Americans never were savages. The savages were the people who came to this country used the Indians for help then raped their women and took thier land or better yet took them hostage and shipped them to England to be a sideshow. Don't believe me read real history books

Of course not.
But why the use of the word savages, they are all human beings, some of them have done great things for this country and the one thing you should remember, our ancestors stole their land and everything on it in the name of the king or queen. Who is the savage??

My Choctaw and Lakota friends and I object to the term "savage" to describe them. They contend that, since they were forced to abandon their religion and culture, their lands were taken away, their children spirited off to white "Indian Schools" where they were punished if they even spoke their language--that perhaps the term "savage" should be used to describe the European Americans who took over the American continent.
